Q345 Carbon Steel Plate

Q345 Carbon Steel Plate is a low alloy high strength structural steel plate with a yield strength of ≥345MPa and a tensile strength of 470-660MPa. Its carbon content is ≤0.2%. By adding alloying elements such as manganese and vanadium to improve its performance, it has high strength, good plasticity and weldability. The steel plate is divided into five grades A-E according to low temperature impact toughness. It is suitable for environments from -40℃ to room temperature. It is widely used in the fields of building bridges, shipbuilding, pressure vessels and mechanical parts, and is especially suitable for structures that bear dynamic loads.

Product Introduction


Carbon steel plate is an iron-based plate with carbon (≤2.11%C) as the core element. It achieves precise performance matching by adjusting carbon content and microalloying (such as adding Mn, Si, Nb, etc.). It has high strength, low cost and process adaptability, and has become one of the most widely used metal materials in the industrial field. Its product spectrum covers low-carbon steel (Q235B), medium-carbon steel (45# steel) to high-carbon tool steel (T10), which are respectively suitable for scenes such as building structures, mechanical transmission parts and cold working dies; the hot rolling process gives it a low-cost advantage and is widely used in infrastructure projects such as bridges and pipelines. The cold rolling technology meets the precision requirements of deep drawing of automotive panels (ST14) and high-gloss spraying of home appliance shells (SPCC) through surface densification and dimensional tolerance optimization. In recent years, the industry has achieved technological breakthroughs such as nano-precipitation strengthening (such as QP980 steel) and weather-resistant design (Q355GNH), enabling carbon steel plates to reduce weight by 15% to 30% and extend their lifespan by more than double in scenarios such as lightweight car bodies and outdoor steel structures, continuously consolidating their irreplaceable status as the "skeleton" of the industry.

Different Types of Carbon Steel Plates


Carbon steel plates contain up to 2% of their total alloying elements and can be divided into either low carbon steels, medium carbon steels, high carbon steels, and ultrahigh carbon steels.


Low Carbon Steels

Low carbon steels contain up to 0.30 percent carbon. The largest category for low carbon steel includes carbon steel sheets, which are flat-rolled products. These are typically used in automobile body parts, truck beds, tin plates, and wire products.


Medium Carbon Steels

Medium carbon steels have carbon ranges from 0.30 to 0.60 percent. Steel plates are used primarily in gears, axles, shafts, and forging. Medium carbon steels that are 0.40 percent to 0.60 percent carbon are used as a material for railways.


High Carbon Steels

High carbon steels contain 0.60 to 1.00 percent carbon. The usage of carbon steel sheets can be used for construction equipment like strong wiring, spring material, and cutting.


Ultrahigh Carbon Steels

Ultrahigh carbon steels are experimental alloys that contain 1.25 to 2.0 percent carbon. Carbon steel sheets are commonly seen being used in knives and the construction industry.
