Product Introduction

Q215 carbon steel wire is made of low-carbon steel with a carbon content of ≤0.15%. It is hot-rolled, pickled and phosphated, and strengthened by multi-mode cold drawing. It has a yield strength of ≥215MPa, a tensile strength of 335-450MPa, an elongation of ≥30%, and can be cold-bent 180° without cracking. Its hardness HV≤120 takes into account both cutting and stamping. Its cost is 15%-20% lower than that of Q235. After being adapted to galvanized/epoxy coating, it is specially used for manufacturing low-strength and high-ductility scenes such as metal mesh, logistics pallet straps, light spring frames, and agricultural greenhouse supports. With a tensile strength 10% higher than that of Q195 and excellent cold forming stability, it has become a cost-effective general structural material.

Applications of Carbon Steel Wire

1. Bridges and large buildings

Carbon steel wire is used as the main cable of cable-stayed bridges or prestressed steel bars to bear the core tension of kilometer-level spans. Its high strength and galvanized coating can resist seawater corrosion and dynamic loads, ensuring the life of the structure for a hundred years. In high-rise buildings, carbon steel wire bundles improve the crack resistance of concrete, achieve lightweight design, and reduce the burden on the foundation.

2. Automobile industry

Suspension springs are made of high-carbon steel wire, which has a hardness of HRC58-62 after quenching and can withstand millions of high-frequency vibrations; transmission chains and gears are made of wear-resistant carbon steel wire, with a friction coefficient as low as 0.05, ensuring power transmission efficiency. The electric vehicle battery pack fixing bracket also uses a lightweight carbon steel wire frame, taking into account both strength and energy efficiency.

3. Mechanical manufacturing

The saw blade base is made of cold-drawn carbon steel wire with a tensile strength of over 2000MPa, and it can achieve precise cutting of metal plates with high-speed steel teeth; the spring clamp is processed by shape memory, and can maintain a positioning accuracy of 0.1mm in an environment of -40℃ to 150℃, which is widely used in CNC machine tools and automated production lines.

4. Energy transmission

UHV transmission towers use galvanized carbon steel wire pull wires, with a single breaking force of 120kN and a wind deflection angle of over 30 degrees; the anchor chain of offshore wind power platforms is made of carburized steel wire, which is 5 times more resistant to seawater corrosion than ordinary steel wire, ensuring the stability of floating foundations in 15-meter waves.

The explosion-proof wire mesh adopts a double-layer interwoven structure, which can intercept 5kg TNT equivalent explosion shock waves; the bank vault door spring lock has a built-in carbon steel wire torsion spring, which has no fatigue failure after 100,000 opening and closing tests, and cooperates with the biometric recognition system to achieve millisecond-level response protection.
